I have been visiting this resort for years, and it's great to see that recent renovations have brought back the charm it had lost. The location is perfect for Nordic skiing and is close to other fun activities. The amenities, especially the pool area, are fantastic for families. However, we did encounter some noise from hockey teams taking over the pool during our stay, which was a bit distracting.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were cozy, and we enjoyed having a fireplace. However, they felt outdated and could use some renovation, especially with paint peeling in places.
Service
7.0
The staff was generally friendly and helpful, but we felt there was a bit of an impersonal disconnect at times, especially when trying to access the pool shortly before closing.
Location
9.0
The location is excellent, being very close to Barrie and great skiing destinations. It's remote but still convenient for shopping and dining.
Dining
6.0
We didn't dine much at the resort, but the nearby restaurants offered good options. I'd say dining could be improved with better on-site offerings.
Facilities
8.0
The pool area is a highlight, with an indoor-outdoor pool that the kids loved! However, it can get crowded, especially with large groups.

I had a delightful stay at this resort, which is beautifully maintained with lovely grounds. The amenities are fantastic, especially the clubhouses and fire pit areas, perfect for relaxation. While the unit could use some updates, it was clean and spacious. The staff was incredibly responsive to our needs. Dining options in the area are decent but somewhat limited. Overall, it feels like a hidden gem close to nature and attractions like Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Overall, I had a great stay at Carriage Ridge. The property looks fantastic after recent renovations, with beautifully maintained grounds and new amenities like quality barbecues. However, there were some issues with noise disturbance and air conditioning that could be improved. Still, I found the resort to be clean and welcoming, making it a pleasant getaway.

Rooms
7.0
The room was generally clean and offered a good amount of space, but I found the lack of kitchen storage and a noisy air conditioner a bit inconvenient.
Service
6.0
While I appreciated the timely assistance when I reached out about cleanliness, the overall service felt a bit lacking during peak times, especially with noise management.

Facilities were well-kept, and the new barbecue pits were a definite highlight, though I felt an outdoor pool would enhance the experience.

My stay at Carriage Hills/Ridge had its ups and downs. The check-in experience was positive thanks to Marcy's helpfulness, but I did wish she smiled more. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a bit dated and in need of more maintenance. Overall, I had a lovely vacation, but there are some areas that need improvement, especially regarding amenities and dining options.

Rooms
7.0
We found our one-bedroom unit to be clean and spacious, with helpful amenities. However, the studio felt cramped, and I wished there was more storage in the kitchenette area.
Service
8.0
The service was generally good; Marcy and Taylor were helpful, and maintenance responded quickly, which I appreciated. However, the inconsistency in staff friendliness was noticeable.
Location
9.0
The resort is conveniently located for both winter activities and nearby restaurants, plus it's just north of Toronto, which is great if you need a quick getaway.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, there weren't many dining options on-site, and I had to drive to find food, which was inconvenient. The lack of a proper restaurant made it less enjoyable.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was well-maintained, and there were nice outdoor spaces to relax. However, some areas need attention, like the vending machine room needing air conditioning.

5.0/10

Our stay at the resort had its ups and downs. While we found the area peaceful and the surrounding nature beautiful, our accommodation left much to be desired. The indoor pool was underwhelming, and the restriction from using the main pool was incredibly disappointing, especially for my son. The staff's refusal seemed quite unfair. However, we appreciated the cleanliness of our unit and the lovely setting. Overall, it wasn't the experience we hoped for.

Rooms
5.0
The unit we stayed in was generally clean but in desperate need of updating. The couch was uncomfortable, making it hard to relax after a long day.
Service
5.0
The service was inconsistent. While some staff were helpful, the refusal to allow us access to amenities was frustrating.
Location
7.0
The resort is beautifully located in a serene countryside, which we enjoyed, but it's quite removed from nearby attractions, making it a bit isolated.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
Facilities could use improvement. Access to the larger pool area would have greatly enhanced our stay, and the indoor pool felt inadequate.
